Rutland’s giant ichthyosaur!

‘iant 32ft ichthyosaur found in Rutland Water hailed ‘one of best fossil finds in UK history’. Rutland lives up to its motto ‘Multum in parvo’, ‘much in little’ with this find.

Happy Christmas!

All set for a special family time this Christmas. It’s a shame my broken foot is slowing me down but time with others is special regardless. Hoping everyone has a wonderful holiday!

I’ve just broken my foot!

21st December – Just broken my foot! So frustrating with so much to do before Christmas but ⁦ the NHS⁩ ⁦at Leicester Royal Infirmary⁩ have been utterly brilliant, courteous, thorough and all in spite of being so busy really efficient. Thanks to all!

Can you spot the abnormality? I now have a metal plate and six screws in my foot to put it right!

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

The Queen’s Award For Voluntary Service is a great honour – the highest a voluntary group can achieve. The award to Rutland Rotaract Family Support Centre is only the second in Rutland. It was a privilege to award Pippa Owen (leader) with the Crystal and a certificate signed by Her Majesty.

Renovated Church Window

This stunning window of St Andrew’s Church, Hambleton, Rutland has been reinstalled having been beautifully renovated thanks to Rutland Historic Churches Preservation Trust & a private donor. There was a service of celebration on 12th December 2021.
