11th November – laying a wreath at Rutland’s memorial statue to Queen Elizabeth II, assisted by two of my Lieutenancy Cadets.

Rutland Festival of Remembrance Concert
Nov 8th: A successful fundraising concert was held at Rutland Hall Hotel for the benefit of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. We were treated to many magnificent performances from pupils at all of Rutland’s secondary schools, including the Uppingham Pipe Band (below) and the Cadet Corps band. There were also interviews with senior military personnel from Rutland’s defence force bases, revealing what life is like in the armed forces that defend our country.
Remembrance Concert
Nov 9th: There was a great concert in Oakham All Saints Church tonight for as part of Rutland’s Remembrance events, with the Rutland Concert Band & talented soloist Katie Marshall. All in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Remembrance service at Brooke
Nov 3rd. There was a moving Remembrance service at Brook church Rutland today. Probably the first of the year? Thanks to all involved.

Thanking Rutland’s many volunteers
Oct 16th: Thanks to all the volunteers who attended a splendid service of thanks for their work, organised by Rutland’s High Sheriff in Uppingham Church; with Bishop Debbie visiting from Peterborough Cathedral.

Rutland Flower Club
Oct 9th; A very enjoyable evening. Rutland Flower Club had an annual open meeting & a demonstration by the talented Andrew Key at Rutland County Museum .The club offers monthly meetings, demos & classes – all are welcome to join.
Celebrating youthful success
Oct 2nd: We had an uplifting evening yesterday to celebrate the success of young people at the Virtual School supported by Rutland Council.
I was glad to join Rutland’s High Sheriff, teachers parents and the Emmanu-el Apostolic Gospel Academy . Also the Leicester FC mascot!

Sept 30th. It is always a privilege & pleasure to welcome new #British #citizens. Today in Oakham we welcomed six; from USA, Zimbabwe, Poland & Thailand. Congratulations!
