The new High Sheriff, Sue Jarron & yours truly get stuck into making poppies for the Rutland Poppy Project. Serious fun! A great way to commemorate the end of WW1 in November. Ceramic poppies are also being made by young & old across the county. Typical Rutland; we are doing DIY. Look out for the display at Castle. If our efforts are any guide, every poppy will be slightly different, even though we started with the same pattern!
Women in Philanthropy
I’m proud to be a member of the steering committee of Women in Philanthropy, which raises money for 3 less well known charities each year and also promotes them.
This year £3,793.44 each to (1) Centre for Fun and Families, (2) New Dawn New Day, (3 )Dementia Friendly Garden. And another £3,000 + given to last year’s charities.
Youth mental resilience
Rutland ‘s young people are determined to increase mental resilience and awareness of mental health. Last month representatives from all of the secondary schools in county held a meeting. They back Resilient Rutland in its Big Lotter bid. Fingers Crossed!
Rutland Grants supports East Midlands Immediate Care
