New British Citizens
July 29th – Welcoming new British citizens is always a pleasure. Today we had five at our Rutland Citizenship ceremony. Congratulations to Przemyslaw Sowron (Poland), Naisa Misimisi (Figi), Frederick Sax (USA), Nicola Collins (Zimbabwe), & Sarah Webb (New Zealand).
Minden Day
July 26th – First Battalion The Royal Anglians have now joined their sister battalion the Second Royal Anglians in Rutland. An honour to formally welcome them and their families to our county on their special day – Minden Day.
University of Leicester Degree Ceremonies

Degree ceremonies are always uplifting occasions. Today Rutland’s High Sherriff and I joined students at the University of Leicester to applaud the success of the class of 2024! Congratulations & good luck for the future! Thanks to all.
Heroes of our local police force
July 17th – An afternoon filled with accounts of selfless courage. A privilege to hear the deeds of police, support staff and members of the public who put the safety of others above that of themselves. Congratulations to all.

I apologise for the absence of posts to this blog in recent months. I’m afraid my account on Twitter / X has suffered a similar problem It’s not that the Rutland Lieutenancy has not been busy – just the opposite. I hope that normal service can now resume.
