Rutland events related to The Queen’s death

The following is an incomplete list of events relation to to the death of The Queen and the accession of King Charles III. We will attempt to keep it up to date as information emerges.

Friday 9th: There will be a Solemn Evensong at All Saints’ church, Oakham, starting at 6pm

Saturday 10th at 11.00 is the National Proclamation of the new monarch (in London).
Flags at half mast should be raised just prior to this event; church bells may be rung ‘open’ (i.e. not muffled) to celebrate the accession.

Rutland’s Proclamation will be at 12.30 on Sunday 11th September at Oakham Castle.
Please attend if at all possible. No parking for anyone at the Castle.

Flags must be returned to half mast at 1.30pm.

Sunday 11th September: Peterborough Cathedral Service 4pm – Rutland will be represented by the Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants, at the invitation of the Dean and the Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Mrs Julie Spence.

Monday 12th September 6pm All Saints Church, Oakham: an Accession Service (date and time are to be confirmed and are likely to change)

Sunday 18th September: Civic Service All Saints Oakham 10.30 am

Sunday 18th September: Peterborough Cathedral Service 7 pm

The Lord-Lieutenant will attend the funeral in London to represent our county.
