Supporting Thorpe Hall Hospice

Hospices are about living well as well as dying well. 50% of patients return home after spending time at Thorpe Hall Hospice. Help is also provided for the family.

There was a fantastic summer evening garden party at Lyndon Hall in aid of Thorpe Hall in the evening of 2nd July. Sunshine, jazz, ice creams (from the cart pictured below) and a good cause – what more could we ask?

Melton Town Band playing at Cutts Close this Sunday. A great way to relax in the sun.  It happens most summer Sundays afternoons – I’m surprised it’s not better attended.  Did you know about it?

900 years of Peterborough Cathedral!

Celebrating 900 years of devotion in beautiful Peterborough Cathedral.  In the picture are are Rt Rev Bishop Donald (left) Very Rev Dean Chris Dalliston (right)  and members of the Cathedral team. 230 guests enjoyed the wonderful architecture by candlelight & an amusing thought provoking talk by Rev Richard Cole ( 3rd from right, as seen on TV…)

Leicestershire and Rutland School Games

This is Team Rutland  at the Leicestershire and Rutland School Games, held at Uppingham School.  Winners from individual school sports days gathered from across both counties. There was great excitement, with over  1,000 primary school youngsters and masses of competition.

Rutland Poppy Project planning Armistice centenary

Rutland Poppy Project has captured the imaginations of young and old across Rutland. Over 10,000 ceramic poppies are being made to commemorate WW1. Many designs were sent in to the judging panel (pictured) – lots of great ideas. We decided to use combination of ideas for an exciting display at Oakham Castle in November.
